The Wild Heart

This months blog will be a short story that came to me yet again on a run. The start of the new year really shifted something inside of me, and lately I have started thinking more about things I used to love and activities I engaged in before I became a mom. And what happened to all of that. There is a new kind of curiosity around what it means to have a wild heart and how that can be combined with motherhood. Does it involve travel the way it used to? Can it involve the sports that I loved so much? How many mothers go reset their nervous systems by BASE jumping or skydiving? What do mothers do in this life to keep their inner balance while not forgetting the core of their being?

This short story is as far as this process has gone for me personally. Stay tuned for more and perhaps after reading this, I invite you to reflect on what is it that makes your own soul sing?

Where do you find your wild heart?

"Once there was a Woman who came from the Stars and lived on a mountain top. This woman had wings made from Dreams and a free, wild heart.

One day Destiny came to visit and told the Woman she was to walk down to the Earth level to guide and nourish a very special little Flower. The Woman felt within her Soul that the little Flower was calling her to come. So, she gave her wings to the Sky and walked down to Earth where the trees and the flowers grow.

For years the Woman nourished the little flower, gave her infinite love and light, and the flower grew. It shimmered of silver and gold, and all the colors of the rainbow. For so vast and unlimited is a mother’s love for her child, that she will give all the Stars and all the Light she is made out of to shower over the beautiful flower of a daughter.

Although she did this with all the Love in her being, the years on Earth had faded the Woman’s wild heart and clouded her vision of the Stars. As the hazy cloud had wrapped around the Woman’s inner self, she had stopped seeking Freedom within.

Then one day Destiny came by again, sprinkled star dust in the air and told the Woman to be still, close her eyes and allow herself to receive.

When she opened her eyes, a Man with silver hair and eyes- green as the Earth stood in front of her. His eyes spoke of lifetimes spent full of purpose.

The Man in front of her was an Earth Angel.

The angel pointed at the mountain top and said:

“You are a being of both the Earth and the Stars, you are here to shine your Light for others to also feel that connection, feel the life force of Spirit within”.

The Woman felt a subtle stirring of her Soul, as the man continued to speak.

“I am here to remind you of the wild heart you left on the mountain top. It is still yours to live.”

The Woman hesitated, looked down at the beautiful Flower next to her, who seemed to shine even brighter now. And as the ancient winds blew, the pedals of the Flower sang a song of a new sort of Freedom. A Freedom relieved from generational conditioning, a Freedom of choice for every girl and every woman to find their deepest expression of self.

The Man looked the Woman in the eyes and placed his hand over her heart.

“Go find your Freedom within”.

And the Woman started walking up the mountain to reclaim her wings made of Dreams, and to bring her wild heart home.
